2E0HTS MOBILE IN CUMBRIA

This week was my YL Louise's birthday, I had arranged a short break in Cumbria which we thoroughly enjoyed.

We were based at Barrow-In-Furness in the South West of Cumbria and we found the town very interesting with all of its engineering history, Submarines and historic Port.

The locals were very friendly and there were some interesting Islands that we visited where I got to make one or two nice QSOs.

Here is a video of some of the radio contacts I managed to make during our stay in Cumbria and the Lake District. I decided to do this as some of you guys have been asking me to make some new Youtube videos, so thanks for all the emails and I hope this is OK!

Regards and 73 Simon 2E0HTS

Brilliant video Simon! Looks as though you, Louise & Dudley had a great weekend. Happy Birthday Lou!

The North of England is my and my XYL's favorite place to visit - from Cumbria & The Lake District to the North Yorkshire Moors. Looking forward to our next trip.

Hope to catch you on the bands soon. Will probably be easier once I upgrade to Extra Class and have access to more of the bands. I'm studying hard!

Lou-M3TLL, Im glad you had a good time. It was truely great!

Ken-N2OBY, We love the North and are very lucky to live on the Moors.

I hope you both get the chance to re-visit and if you do let me know when and we'll make sure there is some good old Yorkshire Tea waiting for you.

Good luck with the licence upgrade, I am not sure what bands you can use at the moment. We will be listening out for you all the same.

Have a goosd Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.

73 good luck

Hello Louise, Simon and Dudley from JAPAN,

It is a very very nice video! I would like to say here "Thank you" to you. And I can see again your nice QSOs from the mobile station in this video. It encourages me to make QSO of DX and specially a QSO with the station of 2E0HTS from my mobile station, Simon. Hi.

Today I could hear the signal comming from Hongkong and India, maybe, on the 18MHz band in my mobile station. It was the first time for me to hear DX HF signals with my mono band mobile antenna and my rig IC-706MkII(50W).

I was very happy though I could not make DX QSO. (it was not enogh strong signal and they did not make QSO in English.) But My mobile station begin to work a little by little, HI (^-^).
